The 2019 Citywide African American Artists Exhibition is a collaboration between the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and The University Museum at Texas Southern University. The 20th annual Citywide Exhibition offers artists of the African Diaspora the opportunity to show their work to a broader public and collecting community. The exhibition is curated by Kanitra Fletcher and will be on view from June 22 through August 11, 2019. Artist prize selections will be juried by Gaynell Drexler, Kerry Inman, and Kingsley Onyeiwu. Opening reception for Citywide is Friday, June 21, 2019, from 7:00-9:00pm, at the University Museum located at 3100 Cleburne Avenue Houston, TX, 77004. Prizes will be announced during the opening reception.
